A Little About the Miniphotog
I am a freelance photographer and attorney hopping between St. Louis and Washington D.C. Why do I refer to myself as the miniphotog? Well, it is simple -- I am short and I am a photographer. I received my first camera in high school and little did I know that this simple act would have such a profound impact on my life. I shoot primarily with a Nikon Df (digital) and Lomography Diana Mini ("toy" camera). I prefer the knobs and dials on manual film cameras to the menus of digital cameras, hence why I love the latest camera trend of giving digital cameras, film camera bodies. My refrigerator is full of film but my only complaint with film involves having the images scanned -- I have hundreds of photos from exhibits at the Missouri Botanical Garden that are still stuck in film sleeves!
As I say on my homepage, I believe photography allows us to view the world not just through another person's eyes but also his soul. Unfortunately, each day we hurry through our lives focusing on tomorrow and we forget that life is meant to be enjoyed and experienced now. As we rush through our day, we might see our world through our eyes but we fail to experience it in our souls. I use my photography to show people what they are missing, striving to invoke emotion that will encourage people to slow down and bare just a little bit of their soul. I have chosen adventure and experiences. I encourage you to do the same.
